  • SALOMÉ

For years, I’ve been fascinated by a simple question:

Why do so many intelligent children struggle to realise their potential, even when they go to school every day?

The answer, I think, has very little to do with intelligence.

It has everything to do with consistency.

Most learning doesn’t break because children lack ability. It breaks because there isn’t enough structured practice, enough personal attention, or enough visibility for parents to know whether real learning is happening.

Schools carry an enormous responsibility. Parents do their best. Tutors fill some of the gaps. Yet somewhere between all three, many children quietly fall behind—not because anyone failed them intentionally, but because the system was never designed to provide continuous reinforcement.

I’ve spent a long time thinking about what an alternative could look like.

Not another edtech app that assumes every child learns best through a screen.

Not another lesson centre built entirely around examinations.

    Something simpler.

Neighbourhood learning spaces where children meet consistently after school. Small groups. Well-trained facilitators. A structured curriculum. Parents receiving regular updates through WhatsApp instead of waiting until the end of the term to discover what their child has or hasn’t learned.

    Technology shouldn’t replace human teaching.

It should make human teaching more visible, more accountable and more connected.

    That idea has become SALOMÉ.

SALOMÉ is being built as a network of community-based learning centres supported by technology—not driven by it. The goal is to help children strengthen foundational skills while giving parents confidence that learning is actually happening.

    We’ll begin small.

    One centre.

    Thirty to fifty learners.

    Twelve weeks of disciplined execution.

Because education isn’t improved by ambition alone. It’s improved by proving that something works before asking the world to believe it.

If we can consistently improve learning outcomes for one community, then another, and another after that, we’ll have built something worth scaling.

There is still a long road ahead. Many assumptions will be tested. Some will undoubtedly be wrong. That’s part of building.

But every meaningful company begins with a belief about how the world could work better.

    SALOMÉ is ours.

Here’s to building thoughtfully, patiently, and in service of the next generation.
